1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Predict The Score ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use our website and mobile application (together, the "Service").

Predict The Score is a football prediction service for entertainment and friendly competition. It does not provide betting, gambling, cash prizes or wagering.

2. Information we collect

Account information

• Email address used to create and access your account.
• Display name shown on leaderboards and within private groups.
• A unique account identifier generated by our authentication provider.

Game and group information

• Score predictions, their update times and the fixtures they relate to.
• Points, rankings and leaderboard statistics calculated from completed matches.
• Private group names, memberships, roles and invitation codes.

Technical and usage information

Our hosting, database and analytics providers may process limited technical information needed to deliver, secure and understand use of the Service. This can include IP address, browser or device type, operating system, page path, referral information, approximate region, timestamps and diagnostic logs.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Create, authenticate and maintain user accounts.
• Save predictions and calculate points and leaderboard positions.
• Create and operate private groups and invitation links.
• Prevent predictions from being changed after a fixture begins.
• Protect the Service, investigate errors and prevent misuse.
• Measure performance and improve the user experience.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

4. Legal grounds

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to provide the Service you request, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, with consent where required, and to comply with legal obligations.

5. Service providers and sharing

We use trusted providers to operate the Service, including:

• Supabase for authentication, database storage and backend services.
• Vercel for website hosting and privacy-focused usage analytics.
• Email delivery and infrastructure providers used to send authentication links.

These providers process information for us under their own security and privacy terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the Service, or as part of a business reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with advertising networks and do not use personal information for cross-app tracking.

6. Visibility of information

Your display name, points and prediction statistics may appear on competition leaderboards. Private group information is intended to be visible only to group members. Your email address is not displayed publicly.

7. Data retention

We retain account, prediction and group information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain competition records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal obligations. Security logs and backups may be retained for a limited period before deletion or anonymisation.

8. Your choices and rights

You may update your display name from the Profile screen. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, restrict or delete personal information, or object to certain processing.

To request account and data deletion, email support@predicthescore.app from the email address associated with your account and use the subject "Delete my account". We may need to verify that you own the account before completing the request.

9. Security

We use access controls, row-level database security, encrypted connections and restricted administrative permissions designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and users should protect access to their email accounts and sign-in links.

10. International processing

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on recognised transfer safeguards and provider contractual protections.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires a higher minimum age for a child to consent to online services, that higher age applies. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service, providers or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service where appropriate.
